Education

Don't treat people as bad as they are,

treat them as good as you are.

Educational classes are an invaluable tool for growth and self-improvement. Often, we are unaware of our own blind spots - we don't know what we don't know.  This can leave us ill-prepared for the challenges that arise in significant aspects of our lives.

Educational classes can help fill these gaps, equipping us with the skills and knowledge to navigate life's complexities more effectively.  Moreover, these classes are not just about self-improvement.  They also enables us to positively impact those around us, contributing to a healthier, more productive community.  Educational classes offer a pathway to healthier family/interpersonal systems and a more fulfilled and impactful life.

Educational classes meet online or in person, once a week for a two hour class.  Participants complete educational lessons/exercises online independently between classes.  In most courses, class time is utilized to practice applying new learning and skills to help with current challenges and life transitions.

Parenting classes provide invaluable tools for raising well-adjusted children.  They offer guidance on attachment, communication, child development, problem solving, and building and maintaining safety and security.  These classes can help reduce stress, improve family relationships, and provide a supportive community.  Parenting classes equip individuals with the skills necessary to navigate the challenges of parenthood.  Parenting classes are conducted in a group format and run for 12 weeks.  Parents can focus on the specific developmental level of their children:  Parenting of Infants and Toddlers, Parenting of Children, Parenting of Teens.

Co-Parent Education

Co-parenting classes are an invaluable resource for parents navigating the complexities of separation or divorce. These classes introduce parents to the concept of co-parenting and the best practices for setting up a healthy co-parenting arrangement. They provide guidance on how to address and neutralize safety issues and concerns, shield children from conflict, with the ultimate goal of setting up separate happy healthy homes as painlessly as possible.  Co-parenting classes equip parents with the necessary tools to ensure the well-being of their children during a challenging time. They are a must for any parent seeking to create a harmonious co-parenting environment.  Co-Parenting classes are conducted in a group format and run for 12 weeks.

Anger Management

Anger management classes are fundamental in learning emotional and behavioral self-regulation skills, life management, and building awareness of how our behaviors impact others.  These classes provide tools for constructive problem-solving and more effective conflict resolution practices, which are essential for healthy relationships and personal growth.  Anger management classes are not just for those who struggle with anger issues, but for anyone seeking to improve their emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.  Anger Management classes are conducted in a group format and run for 12 weeks.

Abuse Intervention / Prevention

Abuse is a complex issue that often goes unrecognized, unacknowledged, and unaddressed. Most abusive behaviors are non-physical and completely legal, yet they are the underlying poison that rots family systems, destroying relationships and sabotaging individual functioning.  Abusive tactics are any behavior that is used to gain advantage, control, or power at the expense of another person. They include the normative abuse that has become so commonplace we don't even consider it abusive--i.e. casual and frequent use of put-downs, not considering others in decisions that affect them, making assumptions based on privilege that reinforces advantage over another, yelling and screaming as a norm between family members, etc. It's these microaggressions over the course of time that cause so much damage. These classes can help individuals recognize their use of abusive tactics and the harm they are causing to others and themselves, learn to handle problems without using abusive tactics, and build safety and security at home for the benefit of everyone in the family system.  Abuse Intervention/Prevention classes are conducted in a group format and run for 52 weeks.
